Join us for the AAHCMSJV reopening at tonight's Arthop
It's mean almost 17 months since we have seen our community, so please stop by!

Welcome back to the African American Historical & Cultural Museum of the San Joaquin Valley – it’s been a while since we felt close to you, the COVID-19 pandemic gave us the blues too .... It has been a long time coming, and we are excited to open our doors to our local Fresno community as we gear up for our first Arthop of the season on Thursday, October 7, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Join us as we reacquaint you with some of local Black artists from throughout the decades, celebrating artistic voices from local celebrity artists to up-and-coming talent from the surrounding area.
In addition, there will be light refreshments and opportunities to meet and greet with community members and new board member introductions!
Also, come check out our calendar of events for the rest of the 2021 year, and events for the upcoming 2022 year.
While we are thrilled to see you, the museum will enforce that all visitors and staff members follow safety regulations and protocols by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing regulations of 6-feet apart during the vent.
For those not ready to return to an in-person gallery, we highly suggest streaming the exclusive Harlem Renaissance and the New Negro exhibit, sponsored by Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) and Donaghy Sales – who have kindly offered up to 700 entrants the opportunity to view the presentation, free of charge.
